BEYOND THE FRAGRANCE

For the 75 ml editions, GMUNDNER Keramik in Gmunden makes the ceramic sleeves exclusively for CWC. Each sleeve is made and painted by hand, in a form developed specially for the CWC bottle. Every one is unique.

Once the fragrance is used up, the sleeve can be separated from the empty glass bottle in a hot-water bath. The ceramic remains, a design object in its own right.

HANDMADE AT GMUNDNER KERAMIK

From clay to finished sleeve, every piece passes through many hands in the manufactory in Gmunden. Cast, retouched, glazed, painted by hand or flamed, and fired twice.

The traditional flaming technique that gave GREYFLAME its name has been part of Austria's intangible cultural heritage since 2021.

HOW TO SEPARATE THE CERAMIC SLEEVE FROM THE BOTTLE

The ceramic sleeve and the 75 ml perfume bottle are firmly bonded. Once the fragrance is finished, the bond can be released in a hot-water bath.

CAUTION: RISK OF SCALDING.
Heat the water separately to approx. 80 °C. Never heat the bottle directly. Let the ceramic cool until it is safe to handle.

1Prepare
Remove the plastic cap. Place the empty 75 ml bottle in its ceramic sleeve in a heat-resistant container. Heat water separately to approx. 80 °C, then pour it carefully into the container.
2Water bath
Depending on the bond, leave the bottle in the hot water for up to about 45 minutes. Then let the ceramic cool until it is safe to handle.
3Separate
A gentle pull is usually all it takes to release the glass bottle from the sleeve.

A SECOND LIFE

Dispose of the empty glass bottle. The GMUNDNER Keramik sleeve is dishwasher safe and can then be used again as a design object in its own right.

How you use it is entirely up to you.
